Caucus is one of the oldest traditions in American politics. It started in the early 1800s as a way for neighbors in a community to come together, discuss issues, and choose the people they wanted to represent them in the political process. Instead of decisions being made by a few people at the top, caucus allows grassroots voters to participate directly.
